Silly Walk, 2023
In the book "Building and Dwelling: Ethics for the City," Richard Sennett writes: "Acceleration orients the body forward; you must look straight and change your peripheral vision so that you notice only what obstructs your movement or allows you to rush ahead."
In order to reconnect with my surroundings, slow down and cope with anxiety that intensified during the war in Ukraine, I began to capture street objects that I encounter during my everyday walks. The subjects of my photography are somewhat naive and ephemeral objects. At any moment, the tags on building facades can be painted over, parked cars can move, and whimsical shadows can dissolve under different light. However, their brief existence is enough to evoke a pleasant reaction when you pass by and find the time to stop and examine them.
